Resorts of the Delaware Water Gap in History
On Saturday, July 30, Jennifer Palmer, local historian and archeologist , will once again present her program on Resorts of the Delaware Water Gap in History. She gave her presentation in August 2021, and it was so successful that she has agreed to present it again, with a few updates! The program highlights the old resorts in and around the Delaware Water Gap and provides great insight into the days of old when the summer season brought hundreds if not thousands to the DWG area for rest and relaxation.
The event will be held at the Pocono Environmental Education Center (PEEC) at 2:00 PM on Saturday, July 30th. PEEC was an old honeymoon resort, and seems a great place to relive the heydays of yesteryear!
The cost is $5 donation per person at the door for non-members and free for members of Friends of DWGNRA. Anyone under 18 is free of charge.
Jennifer Palmer received her Masters Degree in the her studies of the local area, and lives in the town of Delaware Water Gap which is surrounded by park land to the north and south. She has a great knowledge of the past history of the area and enjoys sharing her knowledge with the public.
